Aamir Khan would have been Langra Tyagi of ‘Omkara’, not Saif Ali Khan, know the story

Actually, director Vishal first approached superstar Aamir Khan for the role of Langra Tyagi in Omkara. Aamir Khan also liked this character and the script of the film very much. But meanwhile, Aamir Khan had placed such demands before the makers that they had backed away from taking Aamir Khan in the film.

When Vishal narrated the script of the film to Aamir Khan and told him about his character, Aamir Khan wanted some changes in it.

Aamir Khan started demanding many important changes regarding the character of Langra Tyagi. After which Vishal got confused and did not call Aamir back.

Saif Ali Khan himself had mentioned about this incident during an interview. He told that when I was shooting the character of Langra Tyagi of Omkara, I came to know that Aamir Khan was going to play this character first. But he had demanded many changes in the film due to which the makers backed out.

Saif Ali Khan told that director Vishal was not feeling comfortable with Aamir Khan’s demand for changes in the script. So they did not call him back and then I was selected to play this character.

Omkara film was appreciated not only by the audience but also by the critics. This film was also awarded National Awards in three categories. The film is based on Shakespeare’s novel Othello and surprises with many twists. Many veteran actors like Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Vivek Oberoi and Naseeruddin Shah worked in this film.
